A road trip through the Southwest desert.
Feeling of isolation, remote, and emptiness have encouraged many people to interpret the land in weird ways. Military infrastructure, land art, scientific research, communes, indian reservations, architectural experiments, drag races, casinos, nuclear tests, forgotten roads, live stock, and diners occupy this region of the country that is too often described as being empty.
9 artists pile into 3 cars. Over 3 thousand miles, more than healthy amount of canned beans and spam, thousands of shutter clicks, few gift shop t-shirts, miles hiked in the sun, sand and dust caught in jean cuffs and shoes, lost cashews from trail mix under the car seats, and many words spoken.
Here are some some pictures that inadequately describe some of the sights.
